![]() I was expecting the temperature to remain higher after the load ceases, and then slowly cool over time as the radiator cools down the water. ![]() I was expecting the temperature to increase much slower (as the water absorbs more of the heat from the CPU).Ģ) When the CPU load changes in a negative stepwise way (say from 100% full load to 0% idle), the temperature drops rapidly (from 60C to 38) and then slowly cools off to around 35C. There are several behaviours I find strange:ġ) When the CPU load changes in a stepwise way (say from 0% idle to 100% full load), the CPU temperature reported in the OS jumps rapidly over a few seconds (from 35C to 55-60C), and then continues to warm at a much slower rate. I've attached a screen recording (animated gif) of a short Prime95 run showing the temperature response of the CPU. This has been my first experience using water cooling, and I'm wondering what the normal temperature response/behaviour is. The cooler I chose is the Corsair H60 AIO cooler. I recently bought and assembled a gaming hackintosh using the material on this site. ![]() Building a CustoMac Hackintosh: Buyer's Guide ![]()
